It's helped in growing agricultural industry by providing connectivity Transport carries the people and goods from one place to other places Production, distribution consumption depends upon the transport facility Accelerate economic activity Ensuring security and territorial integrity Transport consists three different modes such as land water and air Land transport consists road and railway Rail transport is highly useful for carrying heavy goods and services over long distance with at very affordable price Road transport over to a customer at his doorstep at affordable prices Water transport carry heavy and bulky goods along navigable Rivers It is very expensive and slow Air transport save times and energy It is popular for people who are called upon to visit urgently various parts of the world Getty image Rail Transport Indian Railway network is the fourth largest in the world after Russia, USA and Canada.  Railway are ideal for carrying goods and peo

Soil properties upsc

As we study the main components of soil that is (sand, silt, clay) that come from lithosphere by the Exogenic forces like climatic or Claimozonic process like weather and erosion.  Soil can be group into part one is physical and other one is chemical properties.  Physical Properties Texture Structure Porosity and permeability Chemical Properties PH values Humus and collouds Soil texture The structure describes the manner in which soil particles are grouped together into layer, pieces or aggregates.  Properties of soil                       Diameter                                                        (mm)  Gravel                                            1  - 2 Sand                                              1 - 0.05 Silt                                               0.05 - 0.005 Clay                                      Less than 0.005                            Soil's Name         Sand           Silt        Clay Clay

Amur Falcon Bird image

Image
The Amur Falcon conservation project of Manipur State Forest Department has been witnessing success stories. One of the Amur Falcon was satellite-tagged last year & named Chiulan. The bird traveled to Somalia & Africa & is providing us information on flying patterns of these birds. A A female Amur Falcon Bird named “Longleng” was satellite-tagged at Nagaland in November, 2016 under the project funded by MoEFCC. Longleng which visited Somalia in Africa has now returned to India on its way back to Amur regions of China. This is the third consecutive year the bird has taken the same route. The tracking of Longleng movement is creating awareness about its flying patterns, migratory routes, habitat etc. Amur Falcon Bird named “Longleng” was satellite-tagged at Nagaland in November, 2016 under the project funded by MoEFCC. Soil Genesis upsc

As we know that there are number of spare likely thermosphere atmosphere Hydrosphere and biosphere which collectively give birth to soil. Its means soil is a function of lithospheric atmospheric Hydrospheric and biospheric process and soil is the mixture and outcome of this four spheres. Getty image Lithosphere ( parent material)  Parent materials means some material from lithosphere circuits and silt and clay brought down by lithosphere. Atmosphere Means different gases come between the words of tabs on the basis of pedology is comes. Pedology The scientific study of the morphology competition and spatial distribution of soil including the classification and use.  Pedogenesis The formation of soil by natural process from parent material Parent material means the rock of Mountain plateau and plain Cryo pedagogy The scientific study of formation and characteristics of soil in Perigalacial reasons Tundra and Taiga region are most suitable area for it

Davis Cycle Of Erosion UPSC

Image
CYCLE OF EROSION Getty image Cycle of erosion given by American Geo-morphologist WM Davis in 1883. His observation was based on drainage of Pennsylvania. Davis postulated that a mountain raised from a geo-syncline which undergoes subduction. He postulated fluvial cycle of erosion. Davis proposed the concept of TRIO. TRIO stand for structure process and stage. Babies also postulated that as a land of lift above the sea level it is called pre youthful stage which does not undergo denudation.  Division Model Of Cycle of Erosion Getty image Division model of cycle of erosion have three stages that is called youthful, mature and old stage.  Youthful Stage River depend their value by hard-ward erosion Drainage will expanded Regional landscape dissected V shaped Valley develop In the last of useful stage river are widened and relative relief increased Lakes in in original depressions venish Waterfall Venish Mature Stage Longitudinal slope decrease meanders

Biogeography - Introduction Of Pedosphere And Biosphere

Image
INTRODUCTION On our planet and earth there are two type of landscape one is natural and other one is culture or man made things present. In natural there are different gradient like lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere, while in cultural landscape all the things are made-up by man.  Those after studying lithosphere, Atmosphere, hydrosphere we have to study the biosphere.  Biosphere Getty image Biosphere means the geography of the biotic things where biotic may be micro organisms found in soil and large material such as plants and animals.  What is biosphere  Biosphere is very important aspect of geography. It is also called bio-geography which has significant place in the geography syllabus.  TYPES OF BIOSPHERE Biosphere is divided into two parts one is soil also called pedo-sphere and other one is vegetation(biosphere).  What we are going to learn in our next some post here I mention all the things.  SOIL - WE LEARN IN OUR NEXT ARTIC

Principle 4: The edge of the sea  is the focal point  of coastal  management programmes  Principle 5:  Coastal management boundaries should be  issue-based and  adaptive  Principle  6:  A  major  emphasis  of  coastal  resources  management  is  to  conserve  common  property resources  Principle  7:  Prevention  of  damage  from  natural  hazards  and  conservation  of  natural  resources  should be combined  in ICZM programmes  Principle  8:  All  levels  of  government  within  a  country  must  be  involved  in  coastal
