MoEF&CC’s various ENVIS Resource Partners are successfully running the Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP), making youths skilled in the field of Biodiversity, Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Did You Know The Green skill development programs (GSDP) was launched in June, 2017 at 10 locations spread over nine - biography regions in India. The programme have now covered 25 States/ UTS with over 2375 batch in different and advanced causes related to biodiversity, waste management, Ornithology, pollution, environments etc.

Desert National Park(DNP) Found in Rajasthan

Desert wildlife Sanctuary commonly known as desert national park (DNP) found in Rajasthan, is one of the largest protected Areas of India.  Protected Areas means a National park, a sanctuary, a conservation reserve or community reserve notified under sections 18, 35, 36(A) and 36(C) of the wildlife protection Act 1972. Did you know Total Area of desert wildlife Sanctuary or Desert national park divided into four ranges viz. Jaisalmer, Miajlar, Barmer and satellite ranges pokran covering the total geographical area of 3162 km square.  DYK: More than 100 bird species both resident and migratory, have been listed from the Desert Wildlife Sanctuary, Rajasthan. The Ramsar Convention on Wetlands

The Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) estimates that around 25% more flamingos have migrated to the region compared to last year, likely caused by the decrease in human activity, the Hindustan Times reports. The Science Times calculates around 150,000 flamingos have come to the area. We have to Preserve, Protect and Restore this Wetlands. A meeting through video conference was convened on 8th May 2020, under the chairmanship of IGF (WL), MoEF&CC to discuss matters related to Marine Conservation in India. Senior officials of MoEF&CC, Forest Departments of Coastal States/UTs of India, WII, CMFRI, Dakshin Foundation & IISc participated in the meeting & gave valuable comments on drafts of National Marine Turtle Conservation Policy & National Marine Stranding Policy, etc. Actions for conservation & protection of Arabian Sea Humpback Whale were also discussed. #MarineLife #MarineProtection

MoEF&CC's ENVIS Resource Partner on Avian Ecology, BNHS India & Conservation Education Centre Mumbai, are organizing a Webinar on 10th May 2020, for the school students on the topic “Climate change - its impact on biodiversity” & “Ethics of bird watching”. The webinar will introduce basic mechanism of human induced Climate Change & its effect on Biodiversity along with an insight on ethics to be followed during bird watching. For certain groups of Migratory Birds, flyways are relatively narrow, well-defined routes reflecting their ecological requirements.
